Assalamu’alaikum, hallo guys  sorry ya aku baru nge-update di blog aku niih , karena banyak tugas dari sekolah .  So, kali ini i will sharing  knowledge about describing a person yang aku dapatkan dari sekolah  , simak penjelasan dari aku yaahhh friends!

How to describe a person

1.    1.  Vocabulary

Vocabulary are all words that are used in a language in general or a particular field in particular.  The word vocabulary itself comes from the Latin word vocabulum which means "to name", "to call" or "to name".

·         Face : square, oval, round, triangular, thin, wide, chiseled

·         Build : slim, slight, thin, fat, skinny, chubby, large

·         Nose : straight, hooked, flat, tall, long, small, big, pointed

·         Hair : dark/ fair, long/ short, shoulder – length, straight/ curly, bald, blond/ginger/brown/black

·         Eyes : big, small, round, bright, narrow, dark, hollow, tear-filled

·         Height : short, medium-height, tall,  about…cm tall, of average height

·         Age : young, teenager, middle-aged, old

·         General appearance : beautiful, pretty, ugly, funny, elegant, smart, handsome, gorgeous, polite, cute, attractive, scruffy

·         Personality : calm, arrogant, humble, eccentric, charismatic, brave, careful, clean, funny, flexible, friendly, sweet

·         Style : flamboyant, chic, eclectic modest, trendy, casual, romantic, formal, classy, goth

·         Shapes : curvaceous, chiseled, rotund, plump, slim, slight, fat, thin, skinny, chubby, large, slender, overweight

·         Character traits : clever, generous, mysterious, creative, flexible, hard-working, enthusiastic, helpful, mature, harmonious, respectful, righteous, open-minded, encouraging, persistent

·         Feelings : happy, sad, angry, miserable, worried, depressed, excited, bored, fed up, pleased, tired, relaxed, anxious, surprised, delighted, stressed, weary, disappointed

Word order is a standard arrangement of words to form a sentence that has a completed meaning

Dilansir dari Merriam Webster, word order adalah sebuah urutan atau susunan kata dalam membentuk frasa, klausa, atau kalimat. Word order dalam bahasa Inggris paling umum yaitu SVO atau Subject – Verb – Object.

Word order memiliki fungsi yang krusial, sebab hal ini akan berpengaruh terhadap apa yang ingin kamu sampaikan. Contohnya, kalimat “The chicken crossed the road” dan “The road crossed the chicken” memiliki dua arti yang berbeda karena subjek dan objeknya terbalik.

Ø  Indirect Objects

Indirect objects adalah salah satu fungsi kata benda dalam bahasa Inggris. Dalam sebuah kalimat, indirect object selalu berada di antara kata kerja dan objek sehingga membentuk pola kalimat SVIO. Berikut contoh kalimatnya:

·         My mother gave my sister medicine

·         He sends his cousin a present

Ø  Prepositional Phrases

Saat menggunakan prepositional phrases seperti to dan for, indirect objects berubah menjadi bagian dari prepositional phrases dan membentuk pola kalimat SVOP. Berikut contoh kalimatnya:

·         My mother gave medicine to my sister

·         He sent a present to his cousin 

Ø  Adverbs

Adverbs berfungsi untuk mengubah kata kerja, kata sifat, adverbs lain dengan menambahkan keterangan waktu, manner, degree, dan seringnya berakhiran -ly. Ada beberapa cara untuk menempatkan adverbs, diantara lain:

Sebelum subject: At 7 am, the traffic was heavy

Adverb → At 7 am

Subject → the traffic

Verb → was

Object → heavy

Setelah object: The traffic was heavy at 7 am

Subject → The traffic

Verb → was

Object → heavy

Adverb → at 7 am

 

Ø  Inverted Word Order

Inverted word order adalah sebuah urutan kata di mana kata kerja muncul sebelum subjek. Ada beberapa klausa yang bisa menggunakan inverted word order, diantara lain:

 

Ø  Conditional Clause

Conditional clause adalah kalimat pengandaian dalam bahasa Inggris. Biasanya conditional clause menggunakan ‘if’ pada awal kalimat, namun kata ‘if’ tidak digunakan dalam bentuk inverted. Berikut contoh kalimatnya:

Had I done my homework, I would have been able to play now

Normal word order: If I had done my homework. I would have been able to play now

Negative Word

Negative word atau kata negatif adalah jenis kata dalam bahasa Inggris yang digunakan ketika menyatakan sesuatu yang berlawanan. Kata negatif yang populer digunakan yaitu not only, barely, never, not, no. Berikut contoh kalimatnya:

 

Never have I seen a baby tiger.

Normal word order: I have never seen a baby tiger.

Wh- Question

Wh- question adalah pertanyaan yang menanyakan objek dan diawali dengan what, when, who, where, whose, whom, atau how. Berikut contoh kalimatnya:

 

What can I do for you?

Pada intinya, word order adalah sebuah kaidah dalam berbahasa yang perlu dipatuhi agar pesan yang terkandung di dalamnya dapat tersampaikan dengan baik.

Text 1

My Older Sister

I have an older sister. Her name is Anisa Rahayu. I call her ‘Kak Nisa’ and she is seven years older than me. Although we are siblings, we have some different characteristics and personalities.

My sister has black wavy hair, but she dyed it brown. She is 160 cm tall and has long legs. Her skin is tanned because she likes to travel. She also has nice facial features. Her face is small, with round eyes and a pointed nose.

People like to see her smile and laugh because she has gummy smile. My sister is pretty but she always denies it. She is also kind to everyone. She likes to buy me food and ask me to the cinema.

 Yet sometimes she can annoy my mother. She rarely cleans her room because she is quite busy. She often sleeps a lot on weekend due to her working schedule which is from Monday to Saturday.

 Jeong Jaehyun

 I have a favorite idol named Jeong Jaehyun. He is a member of a Korean boy group named NCT. He was born on February 14th, 1997 and now he is 23 years old.

 He is 183 cm tall. He has very white skin which makes him called ‘Casper’. According to some sources, he has an ideal body proportion. His legs are long. He also has broad shoulders.

His hair looks very soft and his eyebrows are thick. He also has pointed nose. One charming point that everybody would notice is his dimple. He has very deep dimples on his chubby cheeks and they are clearly visible when he smiles.

Despite having several nicknames, most of his fans often call him ‘peach’ because of his rosy cheeks. He is also called ‘bread’. This is because he often makes a facial expression which makes him look like a bread.

He also has a lot of talents. He can sing, rap, and dance well. He is also good at sports and playing musical instruments such as piano. Moreover, he is also adept at cooking meat so that he has a nickname 'Jung Jaeyuk' which means meat.

My Sister

I have an older sister.  Her name is Vika Rahma.  I call her 'Kak Vika' and she is four years older than me.  Even though we are siblings, we have several different characteristics and personalities.

 My sister has straight black hair.  He is 170 cm tall and has long legs.  His skin is tan because he likes to travel.  He also has good facial features.  His face is round, with round eyes and a flat nose.

             My sister is beautiful but she always denies it.  He is also kind to everyone.  He likes to buy me food and take me out for walks.

 My older sister is a hard worker who I really admire.  She is the kind of big sister that can be relied on.
